Career Day
Today is Career Day at Don Roberts Elementary. Our students have the opportunity to see and hear about the jobs that adults do. Maybe the jobs they hear about will spark an interest and a child might want to know more about doctors or a Fed Ex employee. Today was THE BEST Career Day I have attended in my 15 years of teaching!!! We met an employee from LR Recycles, Fed Ex, and UPS. Each presenter had something age appropriate to say to 4 and 5 year olds. Each presenter gave us a little gift and each presenter gave us valuable information. Ask your child what they learned today!

Fair Share
On Monday we practiced what is means to have a fair share. One students said that fair share is each person having the same NUMBER! She is correct. Here are pics of us practicing fair share.
Namaste!
Today during our Environmental Play time (recess) instead of going to the gym (because of testing), we did Yoga in our classroom. These first pics are of Ommmmmmmmmm.
A Day Without Shoes
What would you do if you could not wear or did not have shoes??? We discussed that topic in our class. Many children said their feet would get cold, wet, or dirty. We also learned to give to someone else if you have extra. Our class is asking for donation of shoes they can no longer wear. I will donate them to Our House Shelter. My sister works there and she tellsl me that many children who enter Our House do not have proper shoes or clothes. Thank you in advance for caring for others!
